A $3.1 million settlement has been ordered in the class action lawsuit entitled Ortiz v. Genco I. Inc., et al., aka California FedEx Employees Settlement.

This settlement resolves two class action lawsuits brought by the class members against FedEx California.

Class members in the case contend that FedEx California violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA as well as other laws in California because they did not receive proper pre-screening disclosures before a pre-employment background check was conducted.

Class members also claim that FedEx violated California wage and hour laws as well as the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Adan Ortiz filed Ortiz v. Genco I. Inc., et al. on Aug. 12, 2016.

Who should file a claim?

Former and current employees that worked for California FedEx since Jun. 24, 2012. As well as former, current, and prospective California FedEx employees that had a background check conducted since May 19, 2010.
