A $60 million settlement has been issued in the class action lawsuit entitled Domestic Airline Travel Antitrust Litigation.
Domestic Airlines Travel Antitrust Litigation Settlement
Class members in the case claim that American Airlines, Inc., Delta Air Lines, Inc., Southwest Airlines Co., and United Airlines, Inc., along with US Airways and Continental Airlines, conspired to increase airline fare prices by limiting capacity on their domestic flights.
Class members allege that in or around 2009, the mentioned airlines increased their airfares compared to other domestic carriers, despite a decrease in the demand for seats and jet fuel.
The lawsuits against United and Delta are still pending.
The plaintiffs named in Domestic Airline Travel Antitrust Litigation case had their separate complaints consolidated into one case on Oct 13, 2015.
Who should file a claim?
Anyone in the U.S., its territories, and the District of Columbia, who purchased airline tickets from American, Delta, Southwest, United, Continental, or US Airways between Jul. 1, 2011, and Dec. 20, 2017, for the Southwest settlement and between Jul. 1, 2011 and Jun. 12, 2018 for the American settlement.
