A settlement has been reached in the class action lawsuit entitled In re: Scotts EZ Seed Litigation, aka Scotts Turf Builder EZ Seed Settlement.
Scotts Turf Builder EZ Seed Settlement
Class members contend that the Scotts Company LLC made false claims with their Scotts Turf Builder EZ Seed by saying it grows grass “50% Thicker With Half The Water” compared with ordinary seeds.
Class members also claim that the Scotts Company sold a product that was a defective combination of mulch-grass seed that was composed of mulch, grass seed, and fertilizer.
Five named plaintiffs filed In re: Scotts EZ Seed Litigation in August 2012.
Who should file a claim?
Anyone in California or New York that purchased any variety of Scotts EZ Seed with the 50% Thicker Claim on the label between Jan.1, 2009 and Sept. 30, 2014.

Proof of purchase required?
Proof of purchase is not required. Class members that do have proof of purchase will only receive a settlement award of $45 while those that supply a proof of purchase may claim up to a $90 settlement award.
