Class members in the case contend that Sears’ tractors contained a fuel line defect that posed a fire risk.

Rebecca Rysewyk, Mary E. Rood, Brian Van Vooren, and Katie Smith filed Rysewyk, et al. v. Sears Holdings Corporation, et al., in May 2015.

Who should file a claim?

Anyone in the U.S. that purchased certain Craftsman riding lawn tractors from Sears between the dates of Jan. 1, 2009, and Dec. 31, 2015.

Proof of purchase required?

Proof of purchase is required. Class members need documentation for out-of-pocket expenses if they are looking for reimbursement or the name and address of the person that performed the repairs on their lawn tractor as well as the cost of the work. Class members must also show ownership with photographs, credit card statements, receipt, invoice, or another document.
