A settlement has been proposed in the class action lawsuit entitled Linneman v. Vita-Mix Corp., et al.
Plaintiffs Vicki Linneman of Ohio and Obadiah Ritchey of Nevada filed the lawsuit in November 2015 claiming that the Vitamix Blenders left small pieces of PTFE (a compound similar to Teflon) in their blended foods.
Class members also claim that Vitamix was aware of this defect for years but did nothing about it.
U.S. District Judge Susan J. Dlott granted preliminary approval of the settlement in October 2017.
Class members who file valid claims will receive a $70 gift card or a free replacement blade.
Vitamix denies any actions of wrong doing but has agreed to settle in order to avoid further litigation.
Who should file a claim?
Anyone in the U.S. who purchased a Vitamix blender with a blade assembly dated on or after Jan. 1, 2017 to Oct. 1, 2016.
